ScRaP SiStaZ Challenge 14

Hello SiStaZ!! Sorry for the day-delay in posting the challenge~ I had one hell-of-an-assignment that is due this week in my class and a classmate and I worked exceptionally late on it last night. It's off of my to-do list now! Yippee! Here are this week's Challenges:

Challenge 14A - Events

This is a two-page spread that I took in two different snapshots... bonus points to the person who finds an ice cream cone on a Cricut cartridge... I think I may know... hold on... let me look... YEP! I was right... Doodlecharms... both an ice cream cone and a popsicle! That's my one and only tip for this layout! LOL!

Challenge 14B - Feelings
** My personal idea is that I'm going to take a picture of Derek *tonight* with his SUPER long hair... it's longest it has been since high school, I'm sure! My title will be something about his hair and the story about why he let it grow longer (my request... but NOT as long as it is right now!).
** I'm sure you have a great snapshot that unlike mine probably doesn't have a story behind it... but you love it... get it out... make an 8.5x11 layout. Simple!

Off to spend a few minutes with my long-haired man! Have fun and I can't wait to see the layouts!!

ScRaP SiStaZ Challenge 13

Hello ladies~ back and at 'em! Can't believe the whirlwind of a vacation we went on... an unbelievable experience, but a double edged sword because there are so many projects I want to get caught up on home... one being these Scrap Challenges. I assure you I have not abandoned the mission, just pushed it down the list. I WILL do them (all), it will just be sporadic. Believe it or not, I'm still trying to get my childhood pictures in order (lucky me... my aunt gave me tons of pictures of my childhood that came from my grandma's house~ I treasure them!) and some others. I'll get there. As we know... scrapbookers are in a constant state of organization! Love all the pages that have been created so far and thanks for being such inspirations to each of the other members in this group... love ladies supporting other women in life's journey... whatever it may be!

Challenge 13a - Event*All of the event pages to this point have been two-pages, but I love this layout. If you are committed two-page scrapbooker I think you could easily turn this into a two-page layout.
*I'm envisioning a pages just like in the pictures... your children playing a water (gun) game in the yard on a hot summer day... maybe they are playing with a garden hose... or perhaps water balloons
*Another idea is family game night... do you have pictures of your family having a Monopoly or Uno showdown? Perfect for this layout challenge.
*Or use the bright colors to document and fun summer activity

Challenge 13b - Feelings
*I love this layout, especially the big letters for the title (Hello, Cricut!). My idea is to use a picture of Derek wearing either his summer "fishing" hat (He doesn't fish, but it looks like a fishing hat to me) or the Detroit "D" baseball hat he wears everywhere (he's actually on his second or third one because the previous hats became so worn and dirty).
*You could use any story of a particular clothing piece someone in the family loves to wear or what about your significatn other's work uniform or their usual work outfit... or how about a particular sweatshirt or t-shirt you always wear (Amy, I'm think your pink Crocs if you haven't already scrapped about them)
*Take a look around your house... maybe there is one thing that moves you... use it as the subject of this page!

Happy Scrapping!

ScRaP SiStaZ Challenge 12

Howdy, girlfriends! I cannot believe it's week 12!! Huge kudos go out to Lori, Amy, and Kim... I think they are the front runners in keeping up with these challenges! I plan to take some time after I return from my trip and get mine pulled together... I have so many ideas swirling in my head that need to be GLUED down! LOL! Speaking of my "trip"... we are leaving this Friday for Ireland! We will be gone until two weeks from tonight, so I'm going to make an executive decision and announce that there will not be a challenge posted from Ireland next Monday~ It will give some of you the opportunity to catch up and others some time to take bubble baths or clean under your couches (haha! Just kidding!). Happy Scrapping and I'll "see" you in a few weeks!

CHALLENGE 12a - Events
* Gosh, you could easily copy this exactly as is using your own children... or it could be 3 wishes that you have right now that haven't come true... yet... a college degree... a new house... a certain car... improved health of a loved one... document life RIGHT NOW! :) Or maybe you already have that degree... or that house... or something simple like having spent a glorious weekend hanging with family or friends... think deeply!

CHALLENGE 12b - Feelings

*Sit for 5 minutes and reflect... on forgiveness... happiness... sadness... thankfulness... truthfulness... and think deeply about the situation or event that is quickly tied to that feeling during reflection and get it DOWN on paper! or maybe it's a family story of forgiveness... happiness...sadness... thankfulness... from recent times or long ago. Writer-r-down!

Happy Scrapping, ladies!!

So Sorry, SiStaZ! My internet has been down... finally working tonight! Here are this week's challenges...

CHALLENGE 10a - EVENT

* Love the number of pictures on this page
* Also love that a few of the pictures were printed with white borders (built in "mat")
* Notice the handwritten journaling... this could also be turned into a typed journaling block
*Background paper is simple, but I think you could do a print since the rest of the layout is pretty simple

CHALLENGE 10B - FEELINGS

*Notice the two different scallop sizes... can't wait to see what you guys do with this... get those Cricuts going!!
* I like that they are "random funny" facts about me... there are a ton of "about me" pages out there, but this focuses on a different aspect of "me"
*If you don't want to do a page about yourself it could always be random-funny things about ANYONE in your life~

I will get the links to last weeks posts connected soon. I am at a conference in Detroit the next two days, have class tomorrow night, Stamp Camp Friday night (can't wait!), and big project for doctoral class work to do with my partner all day Saturday... Saturday night and Sunday is catch up days! :) Have a fantastic rest of the week!

HAPPY SPRING
, ladies! I hope this nice(r) weather is an indication that warm, sunny days are in our near future! Today I opened my sunroof and enjoyed the sounds of traffic as I drove home... that's when you know you have spring fever... the sound of traffic is enjoyable because you FINALLY get to put the windows down or open the sunroof! It also sparked a topic for a scrapbook page... documenting the feelings of those first spring moments would be a perfect way to reflect back each year~ snap a few photos of you and your family members, ask them what their favorite part of spring is, and incorporate them into this week's challenges!

CHALLENGE 09a - EVENTS

*Simple title---chipboard letters, Cricut, letter stickers... use those supplies! The title could be ANYTHING... spring.... summer.... fall... happy.... a$hole... just kidding... got your attention though, didn't I!?! LOL!
*Journaling strips... type your journaling, print it out, cut it into strips, and adhere. simple!
*Love how a minimum of EIGHT photos will fit on these pages... you do have to do some measuring to crop them. You could fit more if you stacked two instead of just one on each slot.

CHALLENGE 09b - FEELINGS

*How appropriate is this layout for spring??
*Thinking this would be a great title/page for a brother/sister layout... or perhaps and mother/daughter or father/son page, or a girlfriends page... oh! how about a page with a picture of childhood friends then & now... perfectly fits the theme that "we stick together."
*This is an 8.5x11 page... mix it up a bit, if you dare, in your scrapbooks!

I'm off to enjoy our first grilled dinner of the year!
Cheers to new creations~!

Howdy SiStaZ! I cannot believe it's Week 08! Sorry I am a bit late... Derek and I had to grocery shop.... really grocery shop last night... Sam's Club, Meijer, etc., in order to fill the fridge with more than a bottle of mustard! LOL! Then, at the last minute, I had the opportunity to spend a few late evening hours with my parents. I had to take the opportunity because, with them living up north, it's tough to find a few hours to spend time together. It was fun... we watched the last episode of The Bachelor with them and my sister. HILARIOUS to listen to my dad's humorous comments about the show (he has never watched it before and was quite entertained with the concept! LOL!

I am plugging along with the challenges (in between reorganizing!!! my scrapbook room!). Love these challenges....love that when I have a few minutes to scrapbook I am focused... I have a goal in my... and don't aimlessly look through idea books and magazines because I already have pages to refer to (yours and the actual challenges!). Keep up the amazing work... ;)

Challenge 08a - Event
This is a little less "simple" than previous Challenges, but I like that it looks "clean." I really like the numbered list for journaling and it looks like they used rubber stamps for some of it... which I (we) have a ton of! A few ideas that come to mind for page topics...
1. Scrap Sistaz Scrap Program
2. Documenting my college classes (Education Specialist Program)
3. Could be your program of... applying for a job... being a stay-at-home-mom... a manager at work... your book club... your child's movie collection... your husband's movie collection... how about your Tivo list... or your IPod list...

Challenge 08b - Feelings
Love the circles on this page... simple, but cute. It would be a great way to use up those scraps (if you keep them).
1. Why not document a nickname you have for... your significant other.... child... pet... other family member.... car (I remember my grandma used to call her car "Ole Betsey")
2. Dig out and dust off those old punches... I think replacing the circles with hearts or stars or some other fun punch shape would be cool... or maybe your could use a die cut from one of your cutting systems?!?

Have a scraptabulous week ladies!!
